The best Skechers for all-day comfort
More than 170 of the styles in our store are Skechers, and it is the brand our customers reorder more than any other. Teachers, shopkeepers, doctors, people who walk to work and parents who are on their feet from Fajr to Isha keep coming back for the same reason: Skechers are comfortable from the first day, with no break-in period.
The catch is that the range is huge. Two Skechers that look almost the same in a photo can feel completely different on the foot, because they are built on different soles and insoles. Once you know the four main families, choosing becomes easy.
Arch Fit: for flat feet and long standing hours
Arch Fit shoes use an insole designed with podiatrists, shaped from thousands of foot scans. It has a raised, firm support under the arch, so your weight is spread across the whole foot instead of pressing on the heel and the ball.
If you have flat feet, get pain in your heels or calves by the evening, or stand for most of the day, start with an Arch Fit model. One thing to know: the arch support feels firm for the first few days, especially if you are used to flat slippers. Wear them for a few hours at a time in the first week and your feet will settle in.
Max Cushioning: the softest ride
Max Cushioning shoes have the thickest midsole Skechers makes. Every step feels padded, which takes pressure off the knees, hips and lower back. They are an excellent choice for older customers, for people carrying extra weight and for anyone who walks long distances on hard roads and pavements.
The trade-off is a slightly taller, chunkier look and a little less stability on uneven ground. For daily walks, morning exercise and long days at work, very few shoes are more comfortable.
Slip-ins: hands-free shoes
Slip-ins have a moulded heel panel that stays upright, so you can push your foot in without bending down or using your hands. In Pakistan this is a bigger deal than it sounds: shoes come off at the masjid, at home and when visiting family many times a day, and Slip-ins make that effortless. They are also a favourite with older parents who find bending difficult.

Which one should you buy?
For standing all day, or for flat feet and heel pain, choose Arch Fit. For the softest possible feel and less strain on your knees, choose Max Cushioning. For taking shoes on and off often, or as a shoe for elderly parents, choose Slip-ins. For jogging, gym and fitness walking, choose GO RUN. Many Skechers combine two of these, such as the GOwalk Arch Fit 2.0, which is both an Arch Fit and a Slip-in.
Getting the size right
Skechers fit true to size in EU sizing, so order your normal size. If you have wide feet, look for models marked Relaxed Fit or Wide Fit, which give more room across the toes. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one. Making them last
Most Skechers have knit or mesh uppers, which breathe well in summer but collect dust. Brush them once a week and hand-wash them gently when needed; never put them in a washing machine, because heat weakens the memory foam and the glue.
